Role Description

  • • We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer to take ownership of backend systems and contribute to the design and evolution of scalable , on-premises and cloud‑native architectures . In this role, you will help define technical direction, build resilient and high‑performance services, and promote engineering excellence across performance, security, testing, and reliability.

  • Your key responsibilities

  • • Design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services using Java 21 and Spring Boot, taking ownership of concurrency, memory management, and JVM performance tuning in enterprise‑scale systems.

  • • Architect, implement, and operate event‑driven systems using Kafka, ensuring reliable message processing, scalability, and resilience across distributed components.

  • • Design, build, and operate end‑to‑end ETL pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, and loading across enterprise databases and data platforms.

  • • Own database engineering activities, including schema design, data modelling, indexing strategies, and query optimization to ensure consistency, scalability, and reliability.

  • • Plan and execute database load and stress testing, continuously measure performance, identify bottlenecks, and fine‑tune database and application configurations.

  • • Develop and maintain complex scripts and automation using Python, SQL, and PL/SQL to support data processing, reconciliation, monitoring, performance measurement, and operational efficiency.

  • • Ensure data quality and integrity across systems by implementing validation, reconciliation, and automated monitoring mechanisms.

  • • Apply and promote engineering best practices, including TDD, BDD, clean code, and code reviews, to ensure maintainable and testable solutions.

  • • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in distributed systems, using strong analytical and debugging skills to identify root causes across application, data, and infrastructure layers.

  • • Collaborate closely with architecture, platform, and product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and production‑ready solutions that address real business and data challenges.
  • Your skills and experience

  • • Expertlevel proficiency in Java 21, including concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning including deep experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture

  • • Design, build, and operate end‑to‑end ETL pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, and loading across enterprise databases and data platforms.

  • • Set up and optimize databases, data modelling and indexing strategies, perform load and stress testing, and continuously measure and tune database performance for scalability and reliability.

  • • Develop complex scripts and automation using Python and SQL/PL‑SQL to support data processing, reconciliation, monitoring, performance measurement, and operational efficiency.

  • • Strong hands-on experience designing event driven systems with Kafka

  • • Strong advocate for TDD, BDD, clean code, and engineering best practices

  • • Excellent analytical and debugging skills, particularly in distributed systems
