HireIQ (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our AI-powered career intelligence platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, professional profile data, resume content, and career preferences. When you use our AI agents, we process this data to generate career intelligence, resume optimizations, salary benchmarks, and interview preparation materials. We also collect usage data (pages visited, features used, session duration) and technical data (browser type, device info, IP address) to improve our services.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used to: power our 18 AI agents for career intelligence, personalize your experience, generate salary benchmarks and career recommendations, communicate service updates, improve platform performance, and comply with legal obligations. In Confidential Mode, your data is processed in an isolated environment with additional encryption layers — it is never shared with employers, recruiters, or third parties without your explicit consent.
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: AI model providers (Anthropic Claude) for processing your career intelligence requests — under strict data processing agreements; payment processors (Razorpay) for billing; analytics providers for aggregated, anonymized usage statistics. In Open Mode, you may choose to make your profile visible to recruiters — this is always opt-in and revocable.
4. Data Security
We implement enterprise-grade security measures including: AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, role-based access controls, regular penetration testing, automated vulnerability scanning, and 90-day key rotation. Our infrastructure is monitored 24/7 with automated threat detection. Security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options) are enforced on all endpoints.
5. Your Rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023 and other applicable laws, you have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, delete your data (right to erasure), withdraw consent at any time, data portability (export your data in standard formats), and object to processing. 6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we permanently erase all personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized, aggregated data (which cannot identify you) may be retained for analytics and platform improvement. Backup copies are purged within 90 days of deletion.
7. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Analytics cookies (anonymized) help us understand platform usage. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Our platform functions fully with only essential cookies enabled.
8. Children's Privacy
HireIQ is designed for working professionals and is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data is primarily processed in India. Where data is transferred internationally (e.g., to AI model providers), we ensure adequate protection through data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, and compliance with applicable cross-border data transfer regulations.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email and in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of HireIQ after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
