About the Role

As the COO at our company, you will lead the operations end-to-end, focusing on underwriting discipline, claims governance, client servicing standards, and managing reinsurance relationships with international partners. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's future and be groomed to transition into the Chief Executive Officer role within 1218 months.

Key Responsibilities: - Lead operations encompassing underwriting, claims, reinsurance, IT, HR, and customer service, along with managing reporting. - Strengthen underwriting frameworks for Property, Liability, Engineering, Marine, and Specialist portfolios. - Oversee complex and high-value claims, collaborating closely with adjusters, engineers, surveyors, and reinsurers.

  • • Manage treaty and facultative reinsurance programs, maintaining relationships with global reinsurers and brokers.

  • • Drive digital transformation, streamline processes, and enhance core systems.

  • • Establish governance standards, ERM frameworks, and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • • Mentor teams and enhance technical capabilities organization-wide.

  • • Execute strategic expansion initiatives and prepare the company for sustainable growth.

    • Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Insurance, Risk, Business, Finance, or related field.

  • • Professional certifications such as ANZIIF, ACII/Chartered Insurer, or equivalent are highly desirable.

    • Experience: - 1015 years of experience in general insurance.

  • • Proficiency in underwriting (Property, Engineering, Liability).

  • • Demonstrated expertise in handling complex claims within industrial, liability, marine, or aviation segments.

  • • Mandatory exposure to reinsurance (both treaty and facultative).

  • • Prior leadership roles like Head of Underwriting/Claims/Reinsurance or senior managerial positions in a reputable insurer.

  • • Experience in operational transformation or system migration is an added advantage.

    • This role is ideal for:

  • • Senior managers in mid-sized insurers looking to transition to the C-Suite.

  • • Mid-level managers from large insurers with strong technical expertise seeking accelerated career growth.
