About the Role

As a Vice President, Financial Accounting, BSRS at HSBC in Chennai, your role will involve overseeing the Balance Sheet reconciliation and substantiation process (BSRS) to ensure accuracy and completeness of ledger balances. You will be responsible for raising exceptions when balances cannot be reconciled, coordinating with various teams to address findings, and driving adoption of updated procedures. Additionally, you will work with Assurance, Internal Audit, and external audit teams, deliver training sessions, produce dashboards for senior forums, and support operating model changes. Your leadership will be crucial in developing financial accounting expertise within the team.

To be successful in this role, you should have a recognized professional accounting qualification with over 15 years of experience in Finance, including leadership roles. You must possess a strong understanding of the BSRS process and TOM, as well as solid accounting and balance sheet control knowledge to ensure consistent standards. Your ability to analyze complex issues, challenge procedures, and provide actionable insights will be key. Furthermore, you should have experience in monitoring performance metrics, designing engaging training sessions, delivering concise updates in management forums, and driving simplification and automation initiatives.
