About the Role

You are seeking a highly driven Associate Vice President (AVP) Replenishment, Planning & Inventory Management to lead Fairdeal's end-to-end inventory planning and replenishment function. This is a high-impact leadership role with direct visibility to the founders and senior leadership team. Your responsibility will be to ensure best-in-class product availability while optimizing inventory investment, working capital, and supply chain costs. You will lead the design and execution of scalable inventory systems, including Fairdeal's Auto Replenishment System (ARS), while managing inventory flow from brands and vendors to warehouses and dark stores.

Key Responsibilities - Inventory Planning & Replenishment - Develop and execute inventory planning strategies across all categories and dark stores. - Maintain optimal inventory levels balancing availability, freshness, and working capital efficiency.
- Drive inventory turns and minimize excess, slow-moving, and dead inventory.
- Build forecasting and replenishment frameworks using demand trends, seasonality, promotions, and business growth plans.

  • • Auto Replenishment System (ARS)

    • - Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Fairdeal's Auto Replenishment System.
    - Define reorder logic, safety stock norms, service level targets, lead-time calculations, and demand sensing algorithms.
    - Partner with Product and Technology teams to automate replenishment decisions at scale.
    - Establish data-driven replenishment processes to support rapid network expansion.
  • • Fill Rate & Product Availability

    • - Own and consistently achieve 95%+ fill rates across all categories and dark stores.
    - Monitor stock-outs, lost sales, and service level metrics.
    - Develop corrective actions and preventive planning mechanisms to improve product availability.
  • • Inbound Supply Chain Management

    • - Lead end-to-end inbound supply chain operations from vendor pickups to mother warehouses and dark stores.
    - Optimize inventory movement across the network.
    - Improve inbound reliability, speed, and cost efficiency.
  • • Mid-Mile Logistics

    • - Oversee fleet planning, routing efficiency, docking schedules, and inventory transfers.
    - Design scalable transportation processes supporting rapid dark store expansion.
    - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce logistics costs while improving service levels.
  • • Warehouse & Network Planning

    • - Collaborate with warehouse teams to improve inventory accuracy and stock visibility.
    - Establish inventory governance, cycle count processes, and shrinkage controls.
    - Support warehouse capacity planning and network expansion initiatives.
  • • Working Capital Optimization

    • - Drive inventory-related working capital targets.
    - Optimize Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) across categories.
    - Build frameworks that support Fairdeal's negative working capital philosophy while maintaining high service levels.
  • • Analytics & Business Performance

    • - Build dashboards and KPI frameworks covering: Fill Rate, Service Levels, Inventory Turns, Stock Cover, Forecast Accuracy, Inventory Aging, Shrinkage, Inbound Cost Metrics.
    - Lead regular business reviews with leadership teams.

    Ideal Candidate Profile - Experience: 1015+ years of experience in Inventory Planning, Replenishment, Supply Chain Management, Demand Planning, Operations Excellence.
  • • Experience in Quick Commerce, E-commerce, Modern Retail, FMCG Distribution, or Large Retail Networks.

  • • Prior leadership experience managing large planning and supply chain teams.


    • Mandatory Requirements - Proven experience managing dark store or store-level replenishment operations.
  • • Hands-on experience building, implementing, or operating an Auto Replenishment System (ARS).

  • • Strong understanding of Demand Forecasting, Inventory Optimization, Safety Stock Planning, Service Level Management, Working Capital Management.

  • • Experience managing inbound supply chains and mid-mile logistics.

  • • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.

  • • Experience in high-growth Quick Commerce companies.

  • • Exposure to large-scale inventory automation systems.

  • • Experience working with technology-led supply chain platforms.

  • • MBA from a premier institution (IIM, ISB, FMS, XLRI, SPJIMR or equivalent preferred).
