About the Role

As a Strategic Investment Manager, you will play a crucial role in identifying and evaluating investment and partnership opportunities in the sports industry. Your responsibilities will include:

  • • Identifying and evaluating investment and partnership opportunities across leagues, team franchises, sporting events, and media platforms.

  • • Conducting detailed market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.

  • • Building robust financial models, projections, and return frameworks.

  • • Leading commercial due diligence, assessing revenue potential, cost structures, and risk.
  • In the realm of deal structuring and commercial negotiation, you will be expected to:

  • • Structure complex commercial agreements with league owners, federations, franchise promoters, media partners, and sponsors.

  • • Developing sustainable revenue models and monetization frameworks.

  • • Leading negotiations to ensure commercially sound deal terms.

  • • Collaborating with legal and finance teams to finalize agreements.
  • Your role will also involve execution and operational leadership, where you will:

  • • Front multifunctional teams across finance, legal, sales, and operations to drive execution.

  • • Oversee budgeting, project costing, and financial tracking.

  • • Ensure timely delivery of initiatives from concept to execution.

  • • Monitor performance metrics and ensure ROI realization.
  • In terms of portfolio governance and oversight, you will:

  • • Maintain oversight across multiple concurrent sporting initiatives.

  • • Establish governance frameworks, reporting structures, and performance tracking.

  • • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and board.

  • • Ensure alignment between long-term vision and operational execution.
  • The ideal candidate for this position should possess:

  • • An MBA from a top-tier institution, with a preference for IIM.

  • • 8-12 years of experience, including a background in Consulting, Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Business Operations and P&L ownership roles.

  • • Strong financial modeling and valuation expertise.

  • • Demonstrated experience in due diligence and deal structuring.

  • • Exposure to sports, media, entertainment, or consumer ecosystems is desirable.

  • • Proven experience working with CXOs, promoters, and external stakeholders.
