About the Role

As a Vice President - Financial Controller at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the organization. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, rules, and regulations. You will also be involved in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks, as well as developing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Manage the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements and other accounting records

  • • Support in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks

  • • Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls

  • • Implement financial policies and procedures for consistent and effective financial practices

  • • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities

  • • Contribute to strategic planning and make recommendations for change

  • • Manage resources, budgets, and policies

  • • Lead a team, define jobs and responsibilities, and plan for future department needs

  • • Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact

  • • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls

  • • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve key business objectives
  • Qualifications Required:

  • • CA / CMA / ACCA qualification

  • • 10 years of experience in finance control team within the investment banking industry

  • • Good analytical skills

  • • Knowledge and experience in IFRS

  • • Good product knowledge
