About the Role

As the Director Finance (Controllership) at RSM US Offices in India (USI), you will play a crucial role in leading financial governance, accounting integrity, and regulatory stewardship for the India operations. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the highest standards of financial reporting, compliance, and internal control across multiple entities and locations. You will work closely with the India Finance Leader to strengthen governance frameworks, support strategic finance priorities, and drive disciplined execution of controllership responsibilities. Additionally, you will collaborate with global finance leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance financial controls and operational excellence.

Qualifications and Minimum Entry Requirements: - Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent qualification

  • • Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in controllership or finance leadership roles

  • • Expertise in Ind AS and US GAAP reporting environments

  • • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-location finance operations

  • • Deep knowledge of Indian regulatory frameworks including RBI, FEMA, and Companies Act

  • • Proven leadership experience managing large finance teams

  • • Strong stakeholder management, executive presence, and advanced communication skills

  • • Experience with ERP systems and finance transformation initiatives

  • • Team and project management skills

    • Key Responsibilities: 1. Controllership Ownership & Financial Integrity: - Provide end-to-end ownership of controllership for India operations, ensuring financial accuracy, reporting integrity, and governance.
    - Act as the final review authority for financial close, balance sheet integrity, and statutory reporting.

  • Audit, Regulatory & External Stakeholder Leadership: - Liaise with internal and external auditors, regulatory authorities, and global finance stakeholders.

    • - Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and drive proactive compliance.

  • Enterprise Controls & Risk Governance: - Oversee payroll accounting, employee reimbursements, and statutory remittances.

    • - Strengthen the organization's control posture through risk identification and enhancement of financial controls.

  • Business Partnership & Execution Leadership: - Collaborate with business leaders and global finance counterparts to align financial processes.

    • - Drive resolution of complex accounting matters and ensure disciplined finance deliverables execution.

  • Finance Transformation & Capability Building: - Lead modernization of finance operations through ERP governance and automation initiatives.

    • - Develop a high-performing controllership organization aligned with global standards.

  • Leadership Partnership with India Finance Leader: - Support the India Finance Leader in shaping financial governance priorities.

    • - Provide thought leadership on accounting, regulatory, and risk matters.

    Strategic Leadership Responsibilities: - Shape controllership frameworks to support organizational growth and global integration.

  • • Drive alignment of reporting standards and financial risk management across India and global finance teams.
