About the Role

You will be leading the Payment Operations team within Wells Fargo India & Philippines office, managing various payment services including Lockbox, Wires, ACH, Payments Command Center, Network management support, and Sanctions Screening. Your responsibilities will include:

  • • Leading a team of 800 professionals, with the potential to increase by another 200 to 300 professionals

  • • Directing, coordinating, and evaluating payment operations activities

  • • Managing daily activities related to payment and money movement within stipulated time limits

  • • Designing and implementing horizontal utility function for payment operations

  • • Overseeing end-to-end payment processes including input, release, repair, investigation, and sanction screening

  • • Managing payment related system testing and implementation of product changes

  • • Reviewing existing processes to identify risks and incorporate controls for enhanced effectiveness

  • • Leading transaction screenings in accordance with enterprise policies

  • • Overseeing customer and transaction screening tools to comply with global sanctions requirements

  • • Establishing and maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies and counterparts in the industry

  • • Partnering for Global screening requirement directions to businesses and advising on global sanctions-related matters

  • • Engaging with business partners at a strategic level to drive initiatives and continuous improvement

  • • Driving talent management, engagement culture, and talent retention within the team
  • Qualifications Required:

  • • 8 years of Operations experience or equivalent

  • • 4 years of management experience

  • • Higher level degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance

  • • 18 to 20 years of experience with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role in payment operations

  • • Background in Payment, Cash Management, Treasury Function, Funding & Settlement, Screening

  • • Good understanding of electronic payment processes, wire transfer services, and financial regulations

  • • Strong track record of building and operating large functions in payment operations

  • • Experience in driving global projects and transformation

  • • 5 to 7 years in a GIC / GCC environment

  • • Industry recognized certifications in payment operations

  • • Leadership experience in international banks
  • The preferred location for this role is Hyderabad / Chennai with the possibility of working partly in US hours.
