About the Role

Role Overview:
As the Group Chief Operating Officer (Country COO) for Deutsche Bank in India, you will be responsible for managing the matrix organization operations in the country, focusing on maintaining an effective control environment within the business divisions and infrastructure functions. Your role involves supporting the Chief Country Officer (CCO) in ensuring adherence to corporate governance policies, providing local input in global/regional processes, and delivering cross-divisional country business, infrastructure, and strategic plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Establish and maintain a proper governance framework on the country level to balance the interests of DB Group's matrix organization

  • • Exercise veto on matters conflicting with country/local interests, coordinate with infrastructure heads and COOs of Units to resolve challenges

  • • Challenge local entities and units to maintain effective control environments and adhere to rules and regulations

  • • Serve as an escalation point for COOs of Units and infrastructure heads, escalating issues to the Management Board if necessary

  • • Promote DB Group's brand in the country and ensure proper sign-off on new products, transactions, and establishment/liquidation of legal entities

  • • Support local CSR activities and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Qualifications Required:

  • • Bachelor's degree or higher in any area

  • • 20+ years of work experience in the Banking and Financial Services Industry in senior positions

  • • Knowledge of regulatory matters, banking operations, risk management, and technology

  • • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills

  • • Adaptable character with prior experience in dealing with regulators being a plus
