Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic General Manager – Finance . Commercial to lead the company’s financial operations, commercial governance, tender finance management, statutory compliance, budgeting, and project financial control across both government and private sector projects.
The role requires strong exposure to government tenders, EPC/project-based billing, GST/compliance, vendor management, project costing, budgeting, financial planning, and audit management. The candidate will work closely with leadership, procurement, project management, operations, and business development teams to ensure strong financial governance and commercial efficiency across projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management . Strategic Planning
• Lead the overall finance and accounts function of the organization.• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business growth objectives.• Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and MIS reports.• Monitor organizational financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to management.• Drive profitability analysis, project financial planning, and cost optimization initiatives.Government Tender . Commercial Management
• Handle financial and commercial aspects of government tenders, RFPs, EOIs, RFQs, and EPC/project-based contracts.• Review tender financial eligibility criteria, turnover requirements, solvency, net worth documentation, and commercial compliance.• Coordinate with BD, tendering, procurement, PMC, and project teams for financial inputs during bid submissions.• Manage BGs (Bank Guarantees), EMDs, PBGs, tender fee documentation, and financial declarations.• Ensure commercial risk assessment and financial due diligence before project onboarding.• Monitor project-wise revenue realization, billing schedules, milestone payments, retention amounts, and reconciliation.Project Finance . Cost Control
• Establish project budgeting and project-wise profitability tracking systems.• Monitor project cash flows, procurement costs, vendor liabilities, and payment cycles.• Coordinate with procurement and execution teams to ensure budget adherence.• Conduct variance analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities across projects.• Ensure accurate project accounting, revenue recognition, and cost allocation.Accounts, Taxation . Compliance
• Oversee accounting operations including AP, AR, ledger scrutiny, reconciliations, and financial closures.• Ensure timely filing and compliance related to GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and statutory obligations.• Manage internal audits, statutory audits, tax audits, and government financial inspections.• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal controls.• Coordinate with CA firms, consultants, banks, and legal/compliance stakeholders.Vendor . Procurement Finance Coordination
• Monitor vendor contracts, payment schedules, PO validations, and commercial documentation.• Ensure accurate verification of invoices, work orders, tax deductions, and supporting documents.• Support procurement teams in commercial negotiations and vendor financial evaluations.Team Management . Process Optimization
• Lead and mentor finance and accounts teams across HO and project locations.• Develop SOPs, financial controls, approval workflows, and reporting structures.• Drive ERP/accounting system optimization and automation initiatives.• Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, Procurement, Studio, PMC, and Leadership teams.Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.• CA / CMA / MBA Finance / M.Com preferred.• 10–15. years of relevant experience in finance, accounts, commercial operations, or project finance.• Strong exposure to government projects, tendering, infrastructure, EPC, museums, exhibitions, experiential projects, construction, or project-based industries preferred.• Experience handling large-scale project budgeting and commercial operations.• Strong understanding of GST, taxation, audits, banking, and statutory compliance.• Proficiency in Tally, ERP systems, MS Excel, financial reporting, and MIS preparation.• Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.• Ability to work in fast-paced project environments with multiple concurrent projects.Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of GEM, CPPP, EPC/project billing structures, and government contracting procedures.• Experience handling milestone-based billing and project financial closures.• Strong commercial acumen and contract interpretation abilities.• Experience in experiential projects, museums, events, exhibitions, infrastructure, or construction sectors will be an added advantage.Key Competencies
