About the Role
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at a 20+ years old SME in Pneumatic Automation located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and optimize all operational functions within the organization. You will report to the Chairman and collaborate with Directors, managing a team of 7-8 direct reports across various departments. Your role will encompass full operational P&L ownership, including production costs, procurement, quality costs, inventory, logistics, HR, and administration.
Key Responsibilities: - Production Planning & Manufacturing Management: - Achieve production targets, improve OEE, optimize production costs, and minimize unplanned stoppages exceeding 4 hours. - Quality Assurance & Management Systems: - Reduce customer complaints, control incoming & in-process rejections, manage cost of quality, and ensure ISO compliance.
Qualification Required: - Education: - B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering is mandatory.
- MBA or PG Diploma in Operations Management is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in roles such as Plant Head, VP Operations, COO, or Works Director with full P&L responsibility.
- Experience in discrete manufacturing of machined metal components, assemblies, or engineered products.
- Proven track record of building or transforming ISO quality systems, SOP frameworks, KPI/KRA/appraisal systems, procurement & vendor management, ERP implementation, Lean/5S programs, and team restructuring.
- Experience in B2B engineered-products companies in the INR 50-300 Crore range, preferably in hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial automation, valves, pumps, or Tier 1/Tier 2 auto components.
- Familiarity with working in or reporting to a promoter/family in a family-managed company is highly desirable.
