About the Role

As a Vice President Non Financial Risk, Investment Operations at HSBC, you will be responsible for implementing strong risk management processes and frameworks to support various Operations business lines within the risk appetite. Your role will involve working closely with SSV business sectors and colleagues within MSS NFR team to maintain a forward-looking function and support the delivery of the MSS Operations strategy for risk reduction. You will need to be deeply connected with the teams, understand challenges across the Operations function, and lead improvements to the global process environment in an ambitious and agile manner. Your focus will be on strengthening controls, achieving cost efficiencies, and minimizing transformation risk.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • • Leading the controls review for key strategic change programs within your remit

  • • Engaging with the 2LoD and 3LoD teams to support Operations management in setting strategy and direction for remediation of high-risk findings

  • • Working with multiple stakeholders across Hub and location

  • • Building rapport with a wide range of people and demonstrating core behaviors and values

  • • Cultivating an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand
  • To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • • Robust working knowledge of Operations functional area and risk management strategies

  • • Strong knowledge of Global Markets/Securities Services processes and trade lifecycle

  • • At least 10 years of experience in Banking Operations/Back Office Operations, Securities Services, Operational Risk, Compliance, or Audit

  • • Proven experience in challenging interactions with Senior Management and working in diverse environments

  • • Analytical background and critical thinking skills

  • • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills at all levels

  • • High level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery of complex initiatives

  • • Excellent organizational and planning skills
