About the Role

Role Overview:
Quantitative Trading & Research (QTR) is an expert quantitative modeling group at J.P. Morgan, specializing in financial engineering, data analytics, statistical modeling, and portfolio management. As a global team, QTR collaborates with traders, marketers, and risk managers worldwide to contribute to various aspects of the financial industry. As an Associate / Vice President within the QTR eTrading team, you will play a significant role in improving the firm's equities electronic execution business by conducting research and partnering with different departments. QTR provides extensive training opportunities, including on-the-job training, internal classroom sessions, and online courses to enhance your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Developing mathematical models for algorithmic execution strategies for single stocks and portfolios

  • • Designing advanced models for limit order placement and order routing across different venues

  • • Creating quantitative tools to analyze order flow and proposing methods to enhance execution performance

  • • Conducting market microstructure research and producing white papers
  • Qualification Required:

  • • Prior experience in handling high frequency data/big data and developing statistical and/or machine learning models

  • • Experience in pre/post trade analytics, including market microstructure research for execution algorithms

  • • Familiarity with short-term price predictive, alpha, and portfolio optimization models

  • • Demonstrated quantitative, problem-solving, and research skills

  • • Eagerness to explore new research in algorithmic trading and apply it to business problems

  • • Proficiency in computer programming, particularly in Python and/or C++, in academic or commercial projects

  • • Enthusiasm for knowledge sharing and collaboration

  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage and influence partners and stakeholders
