What does a managing director do

Objectives of the role
Defining and driving the companys strategy aligns with its long-term vision and short-term objectives.
Overseeing the overall business operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, scalability, and productivity across all departments.
Managing senior leadership and departmental heads to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Leading the company's financial management, including optimal resource allocation, cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, clients, and partners.
Setting performance targets and ensuring their achievement through effective delegation and oversight.
Your tasks
Develop and execute operational strategies to achieve business objectives.
Approve budgets, investments, and resources with the board of directors.
Act as the companys ambassador, enhancing reputation and brand value.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in the firm.
Ensure regulatory compliance with legal, business, and ethical standards across all operations.
Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Oversee recruitment, training, and development of senior management.
Ideal Candidate
An operator who has scaled business units across geographies (ideally South/Southeast Asia) with P&L ownership of $10M+.
