About the Opportunity

A fast-growing, large-scale Energy & Infrastructure organization is looking for a dynamic and visionary Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and scale its Energy Projects business with a revenue potential exceeding 10,000+ Crores.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for end-to-end ownership of the business, driving growth, profitability, operational excellence, and long-term value creation.

Role Overview

The COO will be responsible for complete P&L ownership of the Energy Projects business, covering the entire lifecycle from business acquisition to project execution and revenue realization.

This role requires a strong leader with deep expertise in Energy / EPC / Infrastructure sectors, capable of building scalable systems, driving execution discipline, and leading large cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Leadership & Strategy

- Define and drive the overall business strategy for Energy Projects


- Build a strong project pipeline through business development, tendering, and bidding


- Identify growth opportunities across geographies and segments

2. P&L Ownership

- Own and drive top-line growth, profitability, and EBITDA margins


- Ensure effective budgeting, cost control, and financial discipline


- Lead initiatives for cost optimization and margin enhancement

3. Business Development & Client Management

- Drive key account management and client relationships

- Engage with government bodies, utilities, and large enterprise clients

- Strengthen stakeholder relationships for long-term business sustainability

4. Project Execution Excellence

- Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle: Planning Procurement Execution Commissioning

- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with quality compliance

- Implement robust project governance frameworks and risk mitigation strategies

5. Supply Chain & Procurement

- Lead strategic sourcing, vendor development, and procurement optimization

- Ensure cost-effective and timely availability of materials and services

6. Commercials & Revenue Realization

- Oversee billing, invoicing, and revenue collection cycles

- Improve working capital efficiency and cash flow management

7. Team Leadership & Organizational Development

- Build and lead a high-performance leadership team

- Drive talent development, succession planning, and organizational capability building

- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance excellence

8. Brand & Market Positioning

- Strengthen the companys brand presence in the Energy/EPC space

- Represent the organization at industry forums, client meetings, and strategic discussions

Candidate Profile

- Proven leadership experience in Energy / EPC / Infrastructure Projects

- Strong track record of managing large-scale businesses with P&L ownership

- Experience handling 1000+ Crore projects / multi-project portfolios (10,000 Cr exposure preferred)

- Deep understanding of tendering, project execution, and commercial management

- Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills

- Demonstrated ability to scale operations and build high-performing teams
