Chief Financial Officer

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Finance & Fundraising:

- Partner with the CEO/founders to define financial strategy, growth roadmap, and capital structure M&A, and investment analysis.

- Lead fundraising across equity, venture debt, and working capital financing.

- Manage investor relations, board reporting, and due diligence processes with transparency and accuracy.

- Build financial models to evaluate unit economics, margins, and business expansion scenarios.

- Oversee all financial operations: accounting, treasury, tax, auditing, FP&A (financial planning & analysis), and reporting functions.

- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across all financial matters and develop and implement robust financial controls, risk management practices, and internal audit processes. Manage relationships with external auditors, regulatory authorities, and key investors.

- Advise executives on strategies to maximize performance, increase profitability, and optimize resource allocation and Execute budgeting, reporting, and cost management in alignment with annual and long-term company goals.

Financial Operations & Governance:

- Set up and streamline finance processes, ERP systems, and policies for scalability and compliance.

- Oversee accounting, financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance.

- Implement strong internal controls, risk management, and governance practices.

- Manage treasury operations, cash flows, and working capital to support supply chain financing needs.

Business Partnering & Commercial Finance:

- Work closely with supply chain, procurement, and operations teams to optimize pricing, vendor payments, and credit cycles.

- Monitor and enhance unit economics, including gross margins, logistics costs, and vendor financing structures.

- Provide data-driven insights to improve efficiency in sourcing, warehousing, and distribution.

- Evaluate partnerships, new product categories, and geographic expansion from a financial lens.

Leadership & Team Building:

- Build and lead a high-performing finance team capable of supporting rapid scale.

- Foster a culture of ownership, agility, and accountability within the finance function.

- Represent the company externally with investors, bankers, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Chartered Accountant CA with strong fundamentals.

- 15+ years of finance experience with exposure to B2B commerce, supply chain, FMCG, or retail start-ups.

- Strong background in fundraising (venture capital, private equity, and debt financing).

- Hands-on expertise in FP&A, treasury, compliance, and financial operations.

- Proven ability to manage working capital and vendor financing structures in a high-volume business.
