About the Role

Job Purpose:
As a Head of Legal, you are responsible for managing all legal aspects related to the collateralization process for loans and financing arrangements. This includes reviewing, drafting, and enforcing legal documentation associated with security interests, mortgages, hypothecations, and other forms of collateral. The role also involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, assessing legal risks related to collateral, and handling disputes or litigation concerning collateral.
Principal Accountabilities:* Evaluation of all cases (individual property) from Legal perspective within all the allocated branches.

  • • Providing advice to all business on an acceptance of title search report/property for creation of mortgage/ security, Vetting of Agreements, Sale Deeds etc.

  • • To ensure due diligence during appraisal of the property and keep a check on frauds relating to property.

  • • Adherence to TAT by the appointed external legal counsel in providing the reports.

  • • Co-ordinate and interact with the external Lawyers for investigation of the title of the property and discuss the issues of the title and remedies before creation of security.

  • • Monitoring and assessing performance of Empanelled Vendors as prescribed.

  • • Maintain and circulate MIS of all the cases including agreements, legal compliance, checklist, etc.

  • • Liaison with Legal agency managers, lawyers, government bodies/authorities, and other stakeholders.

  • • Drafting MODTD, Special conditions for the cases . any other relevant MISs as required from time to time.

  • • Updating/modification of legal policy annexure/State legal policies on on-going basis.

  • • Liaise with Courts, Commercial Courts, Arbitration Tribunals, DRTs, Legal Services Authorities, Panel advocates, Empanelled recovery agents, Consumer fora etc. and ensure their good relationship with the company

  • • Provide legal advice or opinion on matters and issues to the business team.

  • • Advising on Enforcement of Securities Interest and to help in the litigation matters by giving necessary instructions, documents, etc as may be required by internal or external representatives from time to time.

    • a) Qualifications


    § Graduate degree in Law, as a regular full-time student, from a recognized university (LLB).
    § Must be familiar with the general provisions of the law (Specially SARFAESI / NCLT / Immovable Properties).
    § Candidates with Post Graduate Degree in Law (LLM) shall be given preference.b) Work Experience


    § Minimum 10. Years of relevant working experience in HFC/NBFC/Banks.
    § Excellent communication skills with good understanding of the role.
    § Sharp understanding of local laws prevalent within the State.
