We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Data and Analytics

In this role, you will:

• Define and drive the overall architecture for AI systems and Python-based platforms, ensuring robustness, scalability, reliability, and maintainability in production

• Lead the design and development of scalable, production-grade AI applications and services, including GenAI/LLM integration into enterprise applications where applicable

• Establish and enforce best practices in Python engineering (code quality, performance optimisation, secure coding), including reusable frameworks, accelerators, and coding standards

• Guide teams on system design, microservices architecture, API development, and distributed systems; conduct design reviews, code reviews, and architectural governance

• Evaluate, onboard, and standardise new tools, frameworks, and AI technologies; stay current with advancements in AI, GenAI, and the Python ecosystem

• Own delivery timelines, technical milestones, engineering quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and tools

• Identify risks, bottlenecks, dependencies, and cost/performance trade-offs; drive mitigation strategies and optimise cost, performance, and operational efficiency

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers and AI practitioners, driving a culture of best practices, innovation, accountability, and execution

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Deep expertise in Python and related frameworks (including FastAPI), with strong engineering fundamentals in code quality, performance tuning, and secure coding

• Strong understanding of AI concepts with hands-on experience using Python AI/ML libraries; experience building production-grade AI solutions

• Experience integrating GenAI/LLMs into applications, including prompt engineering and AI application integration patterns

• Strong knowledge of data engineering, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems; proven ability to design scalable system architectures

• Experience with cloud platforms and containerisation (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes), and operating services reliably in production

• Proven track record designing and building large-scale, production-grade systems with reliability engineering and scalability best practices

• Proven leadership delivering complex engineering and AI programmes end-to-end, managing multiple priorities under tight timelines with high ownership and bias for action

• Good-to-have: experience in data lineage, metadata management, analytics platforms, and/or building enterprise AI platforms or reusable frameworks
