Principal Engineer / Engineering Lead - AI-Native SaaS Platform

We’re hiring a Principal Engineer / Engineering Lead to define and build the foundation of an AI-native SaaS platform. This is not a feature delivery role. This is about owning architecture, enabling teams, and building systems that scale — technically and organizationally.

What This Role Is About

You will take ownership of:
• System architecture across backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure
• Designing platforms that are modular, scalable, and resilient under real-world load
• Building systems that support AI-assisted and increasingly autonomous development workflows
• Enabling engineers to move faster without breaking the system

You will write code, review deeply, and set direction — but your real impact will come from decisions that compound over time.

What You’ll Work On
• Architecting distributed, cloud-native systems at scale
• Designing event-driven systems, APIs, and data flows
• Scaling platforms with multi-region deployments, zero-downtime releases, and strong reliability guarantees
• Building performance-first systems (latency, throughput, caching, edge strategies)
• Establishing engineering systems that support AI-driven development and intelligent product capabilities
• Raising the bar on DevOps, observability, and production readiness

What We’re Looking For
• 8+ years building and scaling real production systems
• Experience operating as a Principal / Staff / Lead Engineer
• Strong hands-on expertise:
• Backend: Node.js / TypeScript (Rails is a plus)
• Frontend: React / Next.js
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and system design trade-offs
• Experience with AWS, CI/CD, and infrastructure at scale
• Exposure to AI/LLM systems or strong interest in building AI-native products
