About the Role

As the Head of Vendor Management Practice Lead at HSBC, you will be responsible for establishing and running the central Vendor Management Practice/Office. Your role will involve collaborating closely with the Global Business and Global Functions teams within the Group Chief Information Office (GCIO) to develop strategies and best practices for vendor management.

Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain a strategic relationship with Procurement to improve processes and tools for the benefit of GCIO. - Establish and maintain a framework of processes, documentation, and artifacts to provide guidance for the central vendor management team and the wider GCIO Vendor Management community.

  • • Organize and lead Vendor Management Community communications and events.

  • • Collaborate with CIOs to allocate Vendor Sponsors and drive value with designated Vendors.

  • • Engage internal stakeholders and maintain an 'outside/in' perspective for continuous improvement of the Vendor Management practice.
  • • Analyze vendor performance and create measurement metrics for SLA adherence and continuous improvement.

  • • Develop scorecards and communication materials to track vendor performance and engagement.

  • • Work with CIOs and Vendor Managers to drive value from strategic vendors.

  • • Conduct contractual reviews, negotiate amendments, and arrange vendor governance forums.
  • • Ensure alignment of objectives and support the development of Tech/Business strategies.

  • • Assist in providing 3rd party requirements to procurement and contract based on business needs.

  • • Collaborate with Finance to identify and execute cost optimization initiatives.

  • • Manage contract renewals and align vendor plans with long-term technical strategy.
  • • Review existing contracts, identify opportunities for improvement, and support exits/transitions from non-strategic platforms.

  • • Assist in commercial negotiation, assessment, and deal structuring with Procurement.

  • • Ensure contracts meet requirements and support approval briefings.
  • Qualifications Required:

  • • Proven track record in technology vendor management within the financial services industry.

  • • Strong understanding of Technology operational management requirements for banks.

  • • Expertise in Third party risk management lifecycle and regulatory landscape.

  • • Experience in managing vendors across various contract types and driving vendor performance.

  • • Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
