Head of Financial Accounting Insurance and Asset Management

As an SVP Head of Insurance & Asset Management Financial Accounting at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in managing and transforming the Finance processes for both Insurance and Asset Management businesses. Your responsibilities will include oversight of General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, local statutory reporting, intercompany reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and monitoring accounting developments in line with new standards. You will lead disclosures, ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements, and optimize processes by working closely with various teams.

Your role will involve representing the function in key governance forums, actively contributing to discussions, and cascading key outcomes to the team. You will establish and maintain robust process controls, lead a team of 80+ people, engage with multiple stakeholders, and drive a strong change agenda. Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting Operations, you will support the Insurance & Asset Management Controllership Leads.

Principal Responsibilities: - Technical Expertise: Demonstrate deep knowledge of Insurance and Asset Management accounting, reporting, and control frameworks. - Transformation Experience: Showcase a proven track record of driving re-engineering, process synergies, and technology-based solutions. - Stakeholder Management: Experience working with diverse, senior stakeholders in a matrix organization. - Communication: Possess strong written and oral communication skills to convey complex transformation agendas simply to a global audience. - Leadership: Demonstrate the ability to lead large teams, manage performance, and drive a strong change agenda. - Problem Solving: Analyze unstructured problems, challenge existing procedures, and deliver practical solutions. - Governance: Operate in senior governance forums and handle auditors effectively. - Adaptability: Work under pressure, adapt to changes, and deliver to tight deadlines.
