About the Role

As the Head of Human Resources (CHRO-Equivalent) at SteelBazaar, your role is crucial in shaping and building the HR function from scratch for India's first AI-powered B2B steel platform. With no legacy HR structure in place, your responsibilities will include talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, and strategic people architecture.

Role Overview: You will be leading the end-to-end Human Resources function, focusing on: - Talent Acquisition - Performance Management & HR Systems

  • • Compliance & Labour Law

  • • Admin & Infrastructure

  • • Strategic People Architecture
  • Key Responsibilities: 1. Talent Acquisition & Hiring Engine (50%) - Own end-to-end hiring across IT and Non-IT roles
    - Build and manage an agency ecosystem
    - Drive aggressive hiring targets with defined TATs
    - Evaluate AI/ML, LLM, and tech roles independently
    - Scale volume hiring for B2B sales & field teams
    - Build internal talent pipeline and enhance employer brand

  • Performance Management & HR Systems (25%) - Own and optimize Keka HRMS

  • - Implement MPS dual-scoring & OKR framework
    - Lead appraisal calibration and performance reviews
    - Drive PIP processes and performance discipline
    - Introduce AI-led HR automation tools

  • Admin & Office Operations (15%) - Manage office infrastructure, vendors, and facilities

  • - Ensure compliance with labour laws
    - Handle travel, expense, and admin budgets

  • Compliance & Labour Law (10%) - Ensure compliance with POSH and Internal Committee

  • - Manage BGV, exit processes, and statutory compliance
    - Adhere to PF, ESI, Gratuity, and labour laws

  • Strategic HR Leadership - Build HR team

  • - Manage ESOP framework
    - Track and report CEO-level HR metrics
    - Strengthen employer brand and employee experience

    Candidate Profile: Must-Have: - 15+ years in HR with strong Talent Acquisition leadership

  • • Proven hiring experience across IT and Non-IT roles

  • • Hands-on experience with Keka HRMS

  • • Strong understanding of labour laws & compliance

  • • Experience managing recruitment agencies and contracts
  • Preferred: - Experience in startup/01 HR build environments

  • • Exposure to AI-led HR tools and automation

  • • Background in B2B, industrial, or marketplace businesses

  • • MBA (HR) from a reputed institute

  • • POSH certification
