The Context:

The used two-wheeler market in India is huge but broken. Most people still struggle with unfair pricing, messy paperwork, and unreliable dealers. This startup is changing that. They have built a B2B marketplace that uses smart algorithms to value bikes instantly and sell them.

They just raised a fresh round of funding. While they are currently focused on the B2B side, they are about to make a big move into the B2C space. They are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead this tech expansion.

The Role:

You will be the architect of this next phase. You won't just be managing people. You will be building the core tech alongside the founder.

The goal is to take the product and the team from 10 to 100. This means you will need to think about scale, stability, and how to build a seamless experience for both business partners and individual buyers.

If things go well, this role is designed to grow into the CTO position.

What You Will Do:

- Work closely with the founder to set the technical direction of the company.

- Build and scale the auction engine and the B2C marketplace platform.

- Hire and mentor a lean, high-performing engineering team.

- Stay hands-on with code while also making high-level architectural decisions.

- Solve complex problems around real-time data, pricing models, and logistics tech.

Who You Are:

- You have lived through the 10-100 journey before. You know what breaks when a company scales and you know how to fix it.

- You are a builder at heart. You enjoy getting your hands dirty and writing code.

- You are based in Pune or willing to move there for about a year. After the core tech is built, you can work from wherever you want.

- You care about simple, clean, and efficient tech.

- You are looking for a long-term home where you can eventually step into a CTO role.
