About the Role

As a Portfolio Manager/Team Lead in the Global Leveraged Finance Underwriting Team at Citi, your primary responsibility will be leading and coordinating a team of Analysts and Associates. You will be the main point of contact for coaching and supervising the junior team while ensuring quality assurance, timely delivery, and analytical rigor.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • • Regularly monitoring the portfolio by writing Annual and Quarterly reviews

  • • Managing the portfolio and recognizing early problems

  • • Participating in new originations, especially for existing relationships

  • • Coaching and training analysts and associates to enhance their credit underwriting skills

  • • Ensuring strict adherence to Citis Policies, Standards, and Procedures

  • • Supervising analysts and associates to conduct periodic written reviews of clients' financial performance, covenant compliance, and competitive position

  • • Reviewing and analyzing valuation models and financial forecasts, articulating assumptions and analysis to LFU Underwriters and Risk

  • • Providing ongoing feedback and coaching to maintain a strong credit culture and commitment to excellence

  • • Evaluating clients' business, financial performances, and key credit drivers across various industries
  • To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and exposure:

  • • Team player with a strong work ethic

  • • Strong writing, analytical, communication, and presentation skills

  • • Experience in leading and mentoring junior bankers

  • • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • • Ability to simplify large amounts of data into concise credit recommendations

  • • Thorough understanding of credit and portfolio management processes

  • • Strong awareness and adherence to quality control and assurance

  • • Proven ability to uphold the organizational culture
  • Qualifications required for this role include:

  • • 13+ years of credit or related corporate credit risk experience

  • • MBA or CA or CFA
