About the Role

As a Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at VARITE India Private Limited, you will play a crucial role in building and leading the procurement function for the organization in India. Your responsibilities will include defining and implementing the procurement strategy aligned with global and India business objectives, owning end-to-end sourcing and procurement for key spend categories, establishing policies and controls for efficient purchasing, leading vendor selection and negotiations, tracking savings and performance KPIs, and partnering with various departments to optimize total cost of ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Define and implement procurement strategy aligned with global and India business objectives.

  • • Own end-to-end sourcing and procurement for key spend categories such as IT & cloud, telecom, facilities, professional services, marketing & media, and corporate services.

  • • Establish policies, processes, and controls to ensure compliant, transparent, and efficient purchasing.

  • • Lead vendor selection, negotiations, and contract management to ensure best value, quality, and risk mitigation.

  • • Develop and track savings, compliance, and performance KPIs, and drive continuous improvement and cost efficiency.

  • • Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, Admin, and Business Leaders to forecast requirements and optimize total cost of ownership.

  • • Implement procurement tools/solutions for automation and analytics.

  • • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing procurement team and champion a culture of cost consciousness and supplier partnership.
  • Qualifications:

  • • 1115 years of progressive experience in procurement and sourcing, with 3+ years in a leadership role.

  • • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, category management, vendor management, and complex contract negotiations.

  • • Background in technology, digital, or global enterprise environment preferred.

  • • Strong understanding of procurement governance, compliance, and risk management.

  • • Experience with procurement and spend analytics tools.

  • • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, or related field; MBA preferred.
