Chief Investment Officer (CIO)

As the Chief Investment Officer for a Multi-Family Office platform based in Mumbai, your role will involve leading the investment strategy and product architecture for advising multiple ultra-HNI and promoter families. This strategic leadership position requires expertise in asset allocation, product innovation, and institutional governance to build customized investment frameworks for different families while instituting a scalable, research-driven, and product-led investment platform.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Leadership & Architecture
- Design and curate differentiated investment products across various markets
- Build wrapper products and scalable solutions for multi-family deployment
- Evaluate, structure, and onboard various investment managers
- Refine product offerings based on performance and client feedback

Risk, Governance & Institutionalization
- Establish comprehensive risk management frameworks
- Institutionalize governance processes and reporting standards
- Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness
- Implement performance attribution and transparency reporting

Portfolio Construction & Direct Investments
- Oversee multi-asset portfolio construction
- Evaluate and execute direct investment opportunities
- Conduct diligence, valuation assessment, and structuring
- Ensure disciplined monitoring and risk alignment

Investment Strategy & Multi-Family Advisory
- Develop customized Investment Policy Statements for families
- Define asset allocation frameworks
- Serve as primary investment advisor to families
- Provide macro outlook frameworks for allocation decisions

Manager & Ecosystem Development
- Build relationships with fund managers and investment platforms
- Negotiate favorable terms and access opportunities
- Develop an open-architecture manager platform for families

Team Leadership & Platform Building
- Lead investment, research, and portfolio management teams
- Create a high-integrity investment culture
- Drive thought leadership and brand positioning

Qualifications:
1520+ years of experience in multi-asset investing, family office, asset management, or PE/VC
Experience advising multiple families in a Multi-Family Office environment preferred
Strong product background with experience in investment solutions
Deep understanding of global asset allocation and alternative structures
Leadership experience managing teams and committees
CFA / MBA (Finance) / CA preferred
