About the Role

As an Associate Vice President Application Support & Automation at LPL Financial, your role involves providing strategic oversight and execution leadership for Tier 2/3 application support, production operations, intelligent automation, and operational analytics across critical brokerage and enterprise platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring production stability, operational excellence, automation scalability, and proactive risk management. Your key responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic direction and operational leadership for application support and automation services

• Acting as a senior escalation point for high-severity production issues and regulatory inquiries

• Partnering with executive stakeholders to align operational priorities with enterprise objectives

• Overseeing Tier 2/3 application support to ensure system availability, performance, and reliability

• Identifying, prioritizing, and sponsoring automation and robotics initiatives

• Driving the use of data analysis and statistical reporting to proactively identify risks and optimization opportunities

• Leading, mentoring, and developing senior support analysts, automation engineers, and application support professionals

• Championing process maturity using Agile, SAFe, Six Sigma, and ITSM best practices

Qualifications required for this role include:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred

• 14-18 years of progressive experience in application support, production operations, automation, or technology operations

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing complex production environments and cross-functional teams

• Hands-on understanding of AWS, SQL Server/MS SQL, Oracle, Linux/Unix, and enterprise application platforms

• Strong experience with incident management, problem management, root cause analysis, and operational risk management

• Development and automation background using Python, Java, JavaScript, VBA, PL/SQL, and ETL tools

• Experience operating in Agile/SAFe technology organizations
