About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Technical Platform Lead (Director level) to drive the vision, architecture, and execution of our core technology platforms.
This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership capabilities to build scalable, secure, and high-performing platforms that power business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define and own the platform strategy, architecture, and long-term roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead the design and development of scalable, resilient, and secure platform solutions, including cloud infrastructure, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Manage and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Drive adoption of best practices in system design, DevOps, CI/CD, and observability.
- Oversee platform performance, reliability, and cost optimization, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are consistently met.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance platform capabilities and efficiency.
- Establish governance, standards, and compliance for platform engineering and data security.
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience in platform or infrastructure engineering.
- Proven leadership experience managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of system scalability, performance tuning, and reliability engineering.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with multi-tenant platform design and enterprise-scale systems.
- Knowledge of data platforms, streaming systems, and big data technologies.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and regulatory standards.

Ideal Candidate
An engineer who has progressed from hands-on platform/SRE roles into technical leadership—someone with 12+ years building or scaling cloud-native systems at financial services or comparable scale, who can credibly speak to both Kubernetes migrations they've led AND governance frameworks they've established.
