About the Role

Role Overview:
You will be responsible for providing strategic, commercial, and pragmatic advice to the business on complex industrial relations, employee relations, and employment law matters. Your role is crucial for mitigating conduct risk, managing significant employee issues, and supporting organizational priorities through expert guidance and the development of robust Employee Relations (ER) frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Provide strategic advice and support to business leaders on complex ER and employment matters, such as serious misconduct, grievances, whistleblowing, bullying, harassment, and discrimination.

  • • Manage formal investigations into employee conduct and workplace concerns.

  • • Interpret and advise on the application of employment/industrial laws, regulations, and workplace policies.

  • • Develop, enable, and continuously improve the Employee Relations framework with a focus on risk mitigation.

  • • Support organizational change initiatives and manage employment-related legal claims.

  • • Develop and implement legal and ER capability through knowledge articles, guidance, and training.

  • • Lead and support People & Culture programs and projects, identifying and reporting on significant trends and issues.

  • • Engage with and influence senior internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal business outcomes.

  • • Role model the organization's values and drive a culture of compliance and continuous improvement in ER and policy-related areas.
  • Qualification Required:

  • • A degree in Business Management (preferably HR) and/or Employment Law.
  • Additional Details:
    The role requires 10-15 years of overall professional experience, including 6-8 years of proven Employee Relations experience within a large corporate environment, preferably in the finance sector or professional services. You should have demonstrated experience in applying risk management principles, analysis, and insights, as well as presenting reports to Senior Leadership teams. Your essential capabilities should include deep expertise in employment/industrial law, strong commercial acumen, influencing and negotiation skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities, high ethical discipline, and the ability to build collaborative relationships.
