Senior Director of Product Design

The opportunity
Adobe is looking for a Senior Director of Product Design to lead design for products that serve creative professionals. In this role, you will guide a highly accomplished group of designers and design leaders responsible for shaping industry defining creative tools across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.

You will operate at the intersection of craft, creativity, and technology, setting a high bar for design excellence while helping teams navigate complex, ambiguous problem spaces. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Executive partners, you will define design vision and strategy for tools that millions of creative professionals rely on daily.

This role has a profound impact on how creators express ideas, develop mastery, and trust the tools they choose to build their livelihoods around.

What you'll do
• Coach and mentor designers and design leaders, hire and attract top-notch talent to the team, and foster a culture where the designers grown, learn and do their best work.

• Build a collaborative environment and encourage deep partnership with cross-functional teams, setting a high bar for design craft, and define and execute design strategy for redesigns, 1.0s, and lead all aspects of design execution across releases on multiple platforms.

• Work with peer design leaders in the US to provide strategy and execution support of their teams based in Noida and Bangalore, India.

• Help the teams contribute to the product strategy discussions through vivid design visions.

• Incite action in cross-functional partners to deliver better user and business outcomes.

• Guide the teams in weekly, monthly and quarterly product releases

What you need to succeed
• 12+ years of equivalent practical experience of managing large design organization of designers and managers.

• Lead empathetically, fostering an inclusive and empowering environment for the design team to do innovative and impactful work.

• Phenomenal oral and written communication skills are a pre-requisite.

• Be an effective facilitator across product-design-engineering teams in early stages of key projects.

• Deep expertise in strategic problem framing and solving problems through high design craft

• Embody a learner and mentor mentality
