Role Overview:
As a Project Director at JLL, you will lead our most complex and strategic mission-critical projects in data center development. Your role involves driving delivery excellence for hyperscale data center developments and providing integrated real estate solutions for leading technology companies and infrastructure investors. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with various teams within JLL to deliver transformational data center projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale data center developments, ranging from 50MW to 1GW+ campus deployments, while serving as the primary client relationship manager and technical authority.• Collaborate with JLL's Capital Markets team to structure innovative financing solutions and work with Leasing teams to optimize portfolio strategies for institutional and hyperscale clients.• Drive technical innovation in mission-critical facility design, construction delivery, and commissioning processes, staying ahead of industry trends including AI/ML infrastructure requirements, edge computing deployment strategies, and sustainable data center technologies.• Coordinate seamlessly across JLL's service lines including site selection and acquisition services, design and construction management, commissioning oversight, facilities management transition, and ongoing asset optimization.• Serve as a trusted advisor to Fortune 100 technology companies, cloud service providers, and institutional investors, providing strategic guidance on portfolio development, market timing, and risk mitigation.• Develop comprehensive risk management frameworks addressing technical, commercial, environmental, and regulatory challenges across diverse global markets.• Lead integrated project teams combining JLL professionals with external consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders. Contribute to knowledge management initiatives and participate in thought leadership development for the Mission Critical practice.Qualification Required:
• Minimum 30 years of progressive experience in data center development, construction, or operations with expertise in delivering major projects.• Comprehensive understanding of mission-critical systems, advanced cooling technologies, high-density power distribution, renewable energy integration, and next-generation network infrastructure.• Exceptional executive presence with the ability to serve as a client-facing representative for strategic relationships.
