Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced
Principal Architect with strong expertise in the banking domain to lead architecture, design, and implementation for digital platforms. The ideal candidate will drive strategic architecture initiatives, ensure alignment with enterprise standards, and enable rapid onboarding to
Citizens Digital Passport requirements.

This role demands a blend of deep technical expertise, architectural vision, and hands-on leadership across cloud, APIs, data platforms, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end

architecture design and governance
for digital banking solutions

• Ensure quick alignment and onboarding with

Citizens Digital Passport
standards and compliance requirements

• Define and implement

cloud-native architecture
using AWS best practices

• Architect and oversee

API-driven ecosystems
, including REST services, API Gateway, and secure authentication patterns

• Provide strategic guidance on

data architecture
, especially with MongoDB (schema design, scalability, performance optimization, backup . recovery strategies)

• Establish and drive

CI/CD strategies
using Jenkins pipelines and GitHub workflows for efficient and reliable deployments

• Define and implement

monitoring, observability, and alerting frameworks
leveraging tools like Datadog

• Lead

resilience engineering and disaster recovery (DR)
strategies including failover testing and chaos engineering practices

• Ensure robust

security architecture
, including identity and access management (Okta), secrets management, and compliance adherence

• Drive

operational excellence
by establishing runbooks, production readiness frameworks, and incident management best practices

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, DevOps, security, and business stakeholders

• Provide

technical leadership and mentorship to development and architecture teams

Required Skills . Experience

• 12. years of experience in

**software engineering and architecture , with significant exposure to the
banking/financial services domain**

• Strong expertise in

AWS cloud architecture
and cloud-native design principles

• Deep understanding of

API architecture
(REST, API Gateway, authentication . authorization patterns such as OAuth, JWT)

• Hands-on experience with

MongoDB
, including schema design, performance tuning, and backup/restore strategies

• Proven experience with

CI/CD pipelines
(Jenkins, GitHub Actions)

• Expertise in

monitoring . observability tools
such as Datadog

• Strong experience in

resilience engineering, DR strategies, and high-availability systems

• Solid knowledge of

security frameworks
, including Okta and secrets management solutions

• Experience in defining

operational processes , including runbooks and production readiness checks

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with

Citizens Digital Passport
or similar enterprise onboarding frameworks

• Experience in

large-scale digital transformation programs in banking

• Familiarity with

microservices architecture and event-driven systems

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
