About the Role

As a highly experienced and technically proficient Sr Applied AI Engineer + Application architect joining the Investment Banking technology team, your role will involve driving the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge AI/ML solutions tailored for Investment Banking products like Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Debt Capital Markets (DCM), and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). You will operate independently to solve complex problems, set technical direction, and mentor junior engineers through hands-on collaboration. Your focus will be on translating complex business challenges in Investment Banking into robust, scalable, and high-performance AI systems that deliver tangible value.

Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex middleware applications using Java and Spring Boot. - Architect and optimize database interactions with Oracle, SQL, and MongoDB to ensure high performance and data integrity. - Drive adoption and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines for rapid and reliable software delivery.

  • • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality software.

  • • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level software engineers.

  • • Research and experiment with AI technologies to enhance developer productivity and improve software quality.

  • • Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

  • • Contribute to strategic planning and technical roadmap for middleware platforms.

  • • Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and model development.

  • • Monitor and control all phases of the development process and provide user and operational support.

  • • Recommend and develop security measures in post-implementation analysis.

  • • Consult with users/clients and recommend advanced programming solutions.

  • • Define operating standards and processes and serve as an advisor or coach to analysts.

  • • Assess risk when making business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.

    • Qualification Required: - Strong understanding of Core Java, including multithreading, collections, garbage collection, and JVM internals.

  • • Extensive experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security.

  • • Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.

  • • Strong proficiency in SQL, experience with Oracle databases, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.

  • • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and practices, version control with Git, and testing frameworks.

  • • Familiarity with web services, XML, JSON, and exposure to AI development tools and methodologies.

  • • Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience, Masters degree preferred.
