About the Role

As a Principal ICT Engineer at WSP, you will be responsible for designing IT networks within buildings, collaborating with multiple design disciplines to implement cutting-edge network designs and technologies. Your role will involve liaising with clients and stakeholders to understand, develop, and interpret their requirements from concept stage through to detailed design on multi-disciplinary projects. You will work in coordination with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants to create future-ready buildings with a strong ICT foundation to deliver exceptional user experiences and innovate the building landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design IT networks within buildings, incorporating leading-edge network designs and technologies

• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand and interpret their requirements

• Work on multi-disciplinary design projects with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants

• Collaborate across WSP with specialists in areas like MEP, Smart, AV to develop holistic solutions

• Produce detailed design and performance specifications, subject to review by colleagues

• Provide technical advice on projects lead by seniors or take a discipline lead role on smaller projects

Qualifications Required:

• Experience in ICT design and project delivery of medium to large building projects

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on technical aspects of the discipline

• CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council accredited honours degree or relevant experience leading to Chartership

• RevitMEP training applied to the discipline

• Accredited network qualification such as Cisco certified accreditations or RCDD
