About the Role
Description:
We are looking for an experienced professional to lead the Capital Market Back Office Operations team based in Mumbai. The role involves managing end-to-end processing of capital market transactions across multiple geographies including APAC, EMEA, and the US. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth settlement, operational efficiency, risk control, and team management within a dynamic and international environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage back office teams to ensure daily capital market transactions are processed and settled accurately and efficiently across regions
- Oversee activities related to FX/MM settlements, trade reconciliation, confirmations, SSI management, and client query handling
- Ensure smooth functioning of teams handling US corporate loans, deposits, certificates, and Islamic banking transactions
- Monitor operational risks and implement preventive and corrective measures to maintain a zero-error environment
- Drive automation initiatives and process improvements in line with market changes
- Manage client interactions to ensure high-quality service and timely resolution of queries
- Handle team management including hiring, goal setting, performance evaluation, and training
- Ensure coordination between regional back offices and maintain strong communication channels
- Participate in global and regional projects including system implementations and process transformation initiatives
- Develop reporting mechanisms for senior leadership and ensure strong governance and control frameworks
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Capital Markets Operations with strong exposure to Fixed Income, FX, Money Market, and Securities
- At least 10 years of experience in team management and leadership roles
- Hands-on experience in FX/MM processing, CLS, SSI operations, and Islamic banking products
- Strong understanding of the complete trade lifecycle and back-office operations
- Experience in transformation and process improvement initiatives
- Good knowledge of systems such as Calypso, Kondor, Summit, SWIFT, and related platforms

Education:
- Postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification
Additional Information:
- Candidate should be flexible to work in shifts, including occasional night shifts
- Must comply with all regulatory, compliance, and internal governance requirements
