As the Head of Vendor Management Practice Lead at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in establishing and managing the central Vendor Management Practice/Office. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the GCIO business (GBGI) aligned Vendor Management teams to develop strategies and best practices. Here's what you'll do:
• Build and maintain a strategic relationship with Procurement to enhance process and tooling improvements for the benefit of GCIO• Develop and maintain processes, documentation, and artifacts to provide guidance for the central vendor management team and the wider GCIO Vendor Management community• Organize and conduct Vendor Management Community communications and events such as town halls, communication strategies, and reporting• Collaborate with CIOs to designate Vendor Sponsors and drive value with designated Vendors• Ensure internal engagement and understanding of Vendor Management practices is maintained• Represent and drive Simplification improvement initiatives for Vendor ManagementIn addition to managing Vendor Management Practice, you will also be responsible for:
Vendor Performance and Vendor Governance framework:
• Analyzing and creating measurements for SLA adherence and continuous improvement of Vendor performance• Creating engaging scorecards and communication materials• Driving value from strategic vendors and identifying improvement areasDeal Initiation/Assurance & Financial Planning:
• Ensuring alignment of key parties to support the development of Tech/Business strategy• Managing AOP and SCO initiatives for cost optimization• Supporting in contract renewals and aligning Vendor plans with long term technical strategyNegotiation & Contracting:
• Reviewing existing contracts, identifying opportunities for better practice• Supporting in planning and contracting for exits and transitions from non-strategic platforms• Assisting Procurement with commercial negotiation and deal structuringApprovals & Execution:
• Confirming contracts meet requirements, including funding and P&L impact• Supporting approval briefings and process improvement across pipeline managementLeadership & Teamwork:
• Chairing Vendor Management and Vendor Governance meetings• Designing, gaining buy-in, and running internal governance meetings• Overseeing Vendor-related projects and initiatives• Embedding 'How we lead' behaviors within the GCIO Vendor Management communityTo succeed in this role, you will need:
