.About the role]

We are looking for a Head of Technology, Platform Business to lead the architecture, execution, and scale of this ecosystem. This role requires a strong emphasis on UPI-native systems, high-scale consumer payments, and regulated platforms. .Key Responsibilities]

  • • UPI . payments infrastructure: TPAP lifecycle from application through NPCI compliance to production, PSP/TSP integrations, VPA management, mandate and autopay flows, settlement . reconciliation, and payment failure handling. Designing for 3B. annual transactions at scale. You’ll own the full payments stack: from how a transaction is initiated to how it settles and reconciles.

  • • Platform services: microservices architecture covering auth, order orchestration, wallet/ledger, issuance, discovery, cohorts, and notifications. Defining API contracts, enforcing event-driven patterns, building saga-based distributed transaction orchestration, and ensuring idempotency across every service boundary.

  • • Infrastructure . security: AWS stack (ECS Fargate, RDS PostgreSQL, Valkey, SQS, CloudFront, WAF, KMS), CI/CD pipelines, observability (Grafana, Prometheus), auto-scaling policies, secrets management, and security architecture. You’ll define how we deploy, monitor, and respond to incidents.

  • • Partner integrations: technical ownership of payment gateways, escrow/settlement partners, gift card aggregators, and game publisher APIs. Evaluating partner API readiness (webhooks, idempotency, reconciliation, error handling, rate limits) and driving alignment on production-grade specs before any integration goes live.

  • • Engineering team: hiring, mentoring, and leading the platform engineering group. Setting the bar for code quality, system design, and engineering practices: architecture decision records, design reviews, post-mortems, and runbooks.
  • .Required Experience]

  • • Deep UPI expertise (non-negotiable): you’ve built or scaled UPI infrastructure at a TPAP, PSP, or payments company. VPA resolution, mandate flows, NPCI compliance, settlement cycles, failure modes at an implementation level. You know how money moves through the UPI stack, not just the product layer on top.

  • • 10. years in backend/platform engineering, 3. in senior technical leadership. You’ve owned platform-level systems, not just individual services.

  • • Track record building high-throughput distributed systems on microservices architectures. You understand the tradeoffs of consistency, availability, and the practical realities of running distributed transactions at scale.

  • • Hands-on AWS (or equivalent) and experience with payment gateways and financial reconciliation. You’ve dealt with settlement mismatches, gateway failures, and the operational side of moving money.

  • • Startup-ready: small team, high ownership, you ship, not delegate.
  • .Preferred Qualifications]

  • • Experience with prepaid instruments, gift card ecosystems, or fintech compliance in India.

  • • Background in consumer-tech platforms. Familiarity with analytics instrumentation (Metabase, Mixpanel, GA4..
