About the Role

As the Head of Regional Development & Strategic Projects for Evonik India, your primary role is to support profitable growth and strategic development in the Asia Pacific region. You will lead and coordinate the Regional Development Team across the India Subcontinent cluster, identifying, exploring, and developing new growth opportunities in alignment with businesses and functions. Your responsibilities include monitoring macroeconomic and market trends, enriching global business strategies with local perspective, and supporting market analyses and strategic projects, including M&A. Additionally, as a member of the India Subcontinent Management Team, you will provide key information and ideas to AP top leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Support local Management, Divisions, and Asia Pacific Head in the development of the cluster and region

  • • Participate and contribute as a member in the Cluster Management Team and RD cluster Management Team

  • • Steer and coordinate Regional Development resources in the cluster in alignment with the cluster Head

  • • Identify new business opportunities and help develop a portfolio of growth topics, including M&A

  • • Lead, drive, or support projects of BLs, Divisions, Region, or Group in the cluster and region

  • • Drive and coordinate selected activities across AP-RD clusters

  • • Initiate, facilitate, and support cross-BL/Division, cross-functional activities, and engage with RD&I, MSE, and TE in shaping India cluster-specific setup

  • • Liaise and coordinate with key stakeholders inside and outside of Evonik

  • • Ensure alignment with businesses and functions to maximize impact

  • • Monitor macroeconomic and market trends, competitive landscape, and socio-political environment

  • • Support advocacy approach and help build and maintain Evonik network with strategic stakeholders

  • • Actively share knowledge and best practices locally, regionally, and globally

  • • Lead, drive, and develop strategic growth and asset options, aligning with internal and external stakeholders

  • • Nurture and establish Strategic & External Manufacturing partnerships
  • Qualifications Required:

  • • Educational Background: Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with a Masters degree in Business Management

  • • Professional Experience: 10-12 years of proven expertise in strategic business development or managing strategic projects within the Specialty Chemicals sector or related industries. Demonstrated ability to drive growth, develop strategies, and execute complex projects in dynamic business environments.
