Job Title: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Location: Pune

Industry: Food & Beverages

Reporting To: CEO / Managing Director

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and growth-driven Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead the end-to-end marketing strategy for our portfolio of beverages (squashes, syrups) and confectionery products. The CMO will be responsible for driving brand equity, consumer demand, market expansion, and revenue growth across traditional and modern trade channels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership

- Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies aligned with business goals.

- Build long-term brand positioning in highly competitive FMCG categories.

- Identify growth opportunities across geographies, product lines, and consumer segments.

2. Brand Management

- Lead brand architecture, packaging strategy, and product positioning.

- Drive brand awareness and recall across urban and rural markets.

- Ensure consistency in messaging across all channels.

3. Demand Generation & Growth

- Plan and execute ATL, BTL, and digital campaigns.

- Drive consumer acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies.

- Collaborate with sales teams to strengthen distribution-led marketing initiatives.

4. Digital & Performance Marketing

- Lead digital transformation including e-commerce, D2C, and marketplace growth.

- Optimize performance marketing campaigns (Google, Meta, etc.).

- Leverage data analytics for ROI-driven decision making.

5. Product & Innovation

- Work closely with R&D and product teams to launch new SKUs.

- Identify trends in flavors, health-conscious products, and premiumization.

- Conduct market research and consumer insights analysis.

6. Trade Marketing & Channel Development

- Strengthen presence across General Trade, Modern Trade, and HoReCa.

- Design trade schemes, promotions, and retailer engagement programs.

- Support distribution expansion strategies.

7. Team Leadership

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.

- Manage agencies, vendors, and external partners.

Key Requirements

- Experience: 10-15+ years in FMCG marketing, preferably in beverages or confectionery.

- Proven leadership experience in scaling brands nationally or regionally.

- Strong understanding of Indian consumer behavior and retail ecosystem.

- Experience in both offline and digital marketing channels.

- MBA in Marketing or equivalent preferred.
