What Youll Be Doing:
- Lead, hire and grow a high-calibre team of frontend & backend engineers, and their line managers.
- Define and implement a roadmap based on critical business need, that delivers the valuable features, scale, and reliability our clients need, as well making systems more resilient and scalable.
- Drive business-significant and complex initiatives by collaborating across geographically distributed teams and partners.
- Coach and mentor engineers globally in support of their growth and adherence to best practices.
Who you are Requirements for success in this role:
- 10-15 years in software engineering or hands-on site reliability engineering of large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- 5+ years of Engineering and software development leadership experience at Sr. Manager or Director Level (have led front line managers).
- Management experience with Full-Stack is a must (Front-End, Back-End).
- Experience operating SaaS software systems in a production environment, AWS or other major cloud providers and with CI/CD, observability, scalability and high performance.
- Experience across multiple development platforms and services (e.
, microservices, APIs).
- Proven ability to lead new product development teams in an incubator environment.
- Experience interacting with customers, senior executives, and business leads.
- Experience establishing and measuring OKRs, KPIs and team goals.
- A nuanced understanding of diverse and inclusive hiring practices.
- Critical thinking and communication.
Including ability to clearly and crisply write and verbally communicate.
- Comfortable leading multiple and often contending priorities including making and communicating decisions.
- Comfortable with the 10Kft view as well as diving into the details.
- Regularly consider business lens and trade-offs even for deeply technical engineering problems.
- Technical and Industry (eCommerce) experience.

- Experience presenting and working with Executive Leadership (SVP / C-suite).
- Establish ways of working for your organization including tools, guidelines, principles, operational process to deliver the right outcome at the right time.
- Build global partnership and industry partnership to solve BV problems and take advantage of opportunities.

- Translate strategic priorities into operational realities by aligning communication, accountabilities, resourcing capabilities, establishing new processes and measuring success.
- Actively participate in the global BV leadership community.
Technical Attributes:
- Experienced software development leader, with strong and recent hands-on code development experience.
- An Engineers Engineer.
- You write high quality, unambiguous documents (e.g. concept documents, functional specifications, design documents) that business and technical stakeholders can easily understand.
- You help solve technical problems with urgency by helping technical teams reach closure by asking the right questions and offering solutions.
- You facilitate designing of pragmatic solutions, building flexible systems without over-engineering.
These solutions are flexible and forward-looking, while remaining simple and straightforward.
- Ability to recognize and adopt best practices in software engineering: design, coding, test, version control, documentation, build, deployment, and operations.
- You understand a broad range of techniques for conducting technical analysis that includes data mining and prototyping and when to use them.

- This role is global in nature and from time to time will be required to work with staff, in-person at our development sites in North America, Europe and India.
