Director of Software Engineering

Mandate :

1. System Leadership :

- Architect high-throughput distributed backend systems

- Build real-time marketplace engines (pricing, ranking, availability, liquidity)

- Design high-performance search & recommendation systems (relevance, personalization, ranking)

- Lead AI-native platform adoption (LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, MCP)

- Solve critical problems across :

a. API failures, webhook failures, retries, idempotency

b. event consistency, fault tolerance, graceful degradation

- Optimize latency cost reliability conversion

2. Organizational Leadership :

- Build platform-first engineering orgs across verticals

- Enable teams owning Flights / Hotels / Bus / Train / B2B systems

- Drive execution velocity in complex, interdependent systems

- Establish culture of ownership, craftsmanship, and first-principles thinking

What You Bring :

- Led 20100+ engineers across backend/platform teams

- Deep expertise in distributed systems + system design at scale

- Experience with marketplace platforms (B2C/B2B)

- Built systems where latency, reliability, and ranking directly impact revenue

- Strong experience handling failures at scale (APIs, async systems, integrations)

- Proven track record in org design + scaling execution

Tech Stack & Systems Depth :

- Languages : Java / Go / Python / Rust

- Streaming : Kafka (event-driven, real-time pipelines)

- Data : Redis, Elasticsearch (low-latency + search at scale)

- Cloud : AWS (multi-region, fault-tolerant systems)
