About the Role

As the Director of Procurement for India at Our Client, a Fortune 100 company known for its strength, stability, and innovation, you will play a crucial role in establishing and scaling the India Procurement Centre of Excellence. Your responsibilities will include driving global sourcing strategies, operational excellence, and measurable business value in close partnership with U.S. leadership. You will oversee procurement operations, sourcing delivery, buy desk, market intelligence, and supplier relationship management to optimize costs, manage risks, and enhance stakeholder experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Define and execute the vision for Procurement operations in India aligned with the Enterprise Procurement strategy.

  • • Lead the development of a procurement operations capability in India meeting cost, quality, risk, speed, and service objectives.

  • • Drive sourcing strategies, negotiations, and cost optimization across categories.

  • • Oversee RFX design/execution, negotiations, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership improvements.

  • • Partner with U.S. leaders to align priorities, communications, and processes, delivering measurable savings and consistent quality.

  • • Implement standardized processes, SLAs, playbooks, and controls to ensure audit readiness.

  • • Establish a scalable Buy Desk with intake, P2P workflows, and catalog strategies for self-service and automation.

  • • Champion digital enablement and automation across tools like Ariba and Fieldglass, improving data quality and workflow efficiency.

  • • Lead the implementation of supplier relationship management governance and oversee performance scorecards.

  • • Manage supplier risk and continuity while driving innovation and automation for efficiency and compliance.

  • • Provide leadership to teams including career development, performance management, and compensation decisions.

  • • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Qualifications & Experience:

  • • Qualification: Bachelors/masters in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or Finance.

  • • Experience: 12-18 years of experience with 10+ years in procurement/supply management and 5+ years in managerial roles.
  • Key Requirements:

  • • Strong expertise in indirect sourcing with a focus on driving category strategies, negotiations, and cost optimization.

  • • Experience in setting up new functions and scaling teams, preferably in the BFSI domain.

  • • Capability in managing large teams, leadership in performance management, stakeholder alignment, and team development.

  • • Preference for candidates based in Hyderabad with a willingness to relocate if necessary.
  • Technical Skills:

  • • Proficiency in procurement policies, negotiation, and contracting.

  • • Strong project/program leadership and change management skills.

  • • Advanced proficiency in technology platforms like Ariba and Fieldglass for decision support and reporting.
  • Soft Skill Attributes:

  • • Strong thought leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • • Ability to work in a global, agile environment and drive consensus.
