An expense that exceeds budget must trigger an approval workflow. An invoice that doesn't reconcile against a purchase order creates a finance team nightmare.

What You Will Own :

Policy & Compliance Engine :

- Rule-based travel policy engine - configurable per organization, department, and role

- Real-time policy enforcement at booking time - blocks, warnings, and escalation triggers

- Audit trail systems - every booking decision logged, immutable, and queryable

Approval & Workflow Systems :

- Multi-level approval workflows with configurable routing, delegation, and expiry logic

- SLA-aware escalation and notification systems for time-sensitive travel requests

- Mobile-first approval interfaces for managers on the move

Billing & Finance Infrastructure :

- GST-compliant invoice generation - with line-item accuracy and multi-GSTIN support

- Credit management, deposit systems, and real-time spend tracking

- Reconciliation pipelines aligning booking data with payment gateway and supplier invoices

- Financial reporting APIs powering CFO dashboards and ERP integrations

B2B API Platform :

- API-first platform for TMCs, aggregators, and enterprise ERP/HRMS integrations

- White-label infrastructure for travel management companies

- Onboarding and org configuration systems for enterprise account management

AI-First Enterprise Intelligence :

- LLM-powered policy interpretation - natural language policy queries for employees

- Spend anomaly detection and travel budget forecasting

- Agentic invoice reconciliation - matching bookings to expenses without human intervention

- AI-driven trip recommendations within policy bounds

Core Engineering Challenges :

- Configurability vs. Complexity every enterprise client wants custom logic; systems must generalize

- Billing Accuracy invoicing errors are not UX bugs; they are financial and legal liabilities

- Audit Immutability compliance data must be tamper-proof and queryable at any granularity

- Multi-Tenancy at Depth policy, billing, and reporting must be fully isolated per client

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect the B2B platform - policy engine, approval workflows, billing, and API layer

- Own the compliance and audit infrastructure - built for enterprise-grade regulatory requirements

- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Enterprise Success teams to translate enterprise needs into product

- Drive the API strategy for TMC and aggregator integrations

- Build and lead teams of 15 - 25+ engineers

Technology Stack :

- Backend : Java/Kotlin /Go

- Workflow : Temporal / Kafka-based state machines

- Data : MySQL /PostgreSQL/Redis /Elasticsearch

- Cloud : AWS (EKS, RDS, S3)

- APIs : REST /gRPC /Webhooks

Who You Are :

- 10 - 16 years in backend engineering; experience with enterprise SaaS, FinTech, or B2B platforms

- Deep expertise in billing systems, financial reconciliation, and compliance infrastructure

- Experience with multi-tenant architectures and enterprise API design patterns

- Tier-I institute background strongly preferred (IIT / IIIT / NIT / IISC / BITS - CSE/ISE)
