About the Role

As a Business Development Director based in Nigeria, your role will involve driving client relationships, partnership development, and revenue growth in the Nigerian market. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, deepen existing accounts, and expand the company's footprint in West Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in Nigeria.

  • • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market mapping, cold outreach, and networking.

  • • Lead end-to-end business development cycles, from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and contract closure.

  • • Develop and execute account management strategies to drive retention and upsell.

  • • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.

  • • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, operations) to align client needs with business offerings.

  • • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to inform commercial strategy.

  • • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and forecasting using CRM tools.
  • Qualifications Required:

  • • 6+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within FMCG, telecom, tech, or consumer electronics sectors.

  • • Proven track record of closing deals and managing senior-level client relationships in the Nigerian market.

  • • Deep understanding of the Nigerian business landscape, including key industry players and distribution networks.

  • • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

  • • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

  • • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
