THE OPPORTUNITY:
Caledonian Fund is seeking an exceptional capital-raising professional to join us as Capital Raising Director - Private Wealth. This is a rare opportunity to represent a distinctive, regulated alternative investment fund at the forefront of the institutionalization of Scotch whisky as an asset class.
Scotch whisky is becoming a mainstream alternative asset. Caledonian Fund brings institutional capability, proprietary market intelligence, and deep industry relationships to generate superior risk-adjusted returns for investors. The Fund's institutional structure, data-driven acquisition, structured maturation planning, and strategic exits is built for long-term value creation.
This role sits at the commercial heart of the Fund. You will be building the investor base from the ground up during a critical pre-first-close window, carrying significant influence over the fund's trajectory and your own earning potential.
ROLE & COMPENSATION - SUCCESS FEE STRUCTURE:
You will lead direct origination and closing of new investor commitments from HNW and UHNW investors and family offices. You will be supported by an experienced investment management team and Scotch whisky industry veterans, so your focus remains exclusively on client acquisition, selling and capital raising.
- Originate and close new investor commitments, Build and activate a network of prospective investors through direct outreach, referrals, and industry events
- Lead in-person and remote meetings with prospects, with full support from the fund's investment team for due diligence and follow-up
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to sales conversion and subscription
- Collaborate with the investment management team on investor communications and relationship management post-commitment
You will be compensated through a performance driven and tiered placement fee, paid within 30-business days of funds received by the fund:
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- 15+ years in private banking, structured capital advisory, alternative investment placement in a senior, client-facing sales role
- Demonstrated track record in raising capital and closing new investor commitments from HNW and UHNW investors and family offices
- Experience of selling alternative and closed-ended investment products (private equity, private credit, real assets, or comparable)
- Good understanding of suitability, eligibility, and compliance considerations around cross-border private placement and raising LP commitment in offshore and regulated investment fund
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills - written, verbal, and in-person
- Self-starting, high-activity orientation; comfortable with a contractual, success-fee-based engagement and motivated by uncapped, performance-driven compensation
- Degree or equivalent; genuine interest in alternative investments and the Scotch whisky asset class
GEOGRAPHY & STRUCTURE:
This is a flexible, contractual engagement. Target investor markets include the UK, Asia, Middle East and Europe. The role can be structured around your existing location base, with in-person client meetings and fund team collaboration as required.
Ideal Candidate
Someone who has spent 15+ years closing $50M+ commitments from family offices and UHNW individuals in private banking or PE placement, not someone who managed relationships post-sale.
