About the Role
Role Overview:
We are looking for a visionary and execution-driven Head of AI to lead the organization's Artificial Intelligence strategy, innovation, and implementation. This role will be responsible for building and scaling AI capabilities, driving data-led transformation, and embedding AI across business functions to unlock measurable value.
Key Responsibilities:
1. AI Strategy & Leadership:
- Define and drive the enterprise-wide AI roadmap aligned with business goals
- Identify high-impact AI/ML use cases across functions (BFSI, Analytics, Operations, etc.)
- Act as a thought leader for AI adoption and innovation
2. Solution Development & Deployment:
- Lead design and deployment of AI/ML models (predictive, NLP, GenAI, computer vision)
- Oversee end-to-end lifecycle: data sourcing, model building, validation, deployment, and monitoring
- Ensure scalable, secure, and production-ready AI solutions
3. Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with business leaders to translate problems into AI-driven solutions
- Collaborate with tech, data engineering, and product teams
- Present AI strategy and outcomes to senior leadership
4. Team Building & Capability Development:
- Build and lead high-performing teams of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and AI Specialists
- Drive upskilling and foster a culture of innovation and experimentation
- Mentor leadership pipeline within AI teams
5. Governance, Risk & Ethics:
- Establish AI governance frameworks (model risk, bias, explainability)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (especially critical in BFSI)
- Implement responsible AI practices
6. Innovation & External Ecosystem:
- Stay ahead of AI trends (GenAI, LLMs, automation, etc.)
- Build partnerships with AI vendors, startups, and academia
- Represent the organization in industry forums and thought leadership platforms
Ideal Candidate
Someone who has built AI/ML functions from 0β1 or scaled them 1β10 at a mid-to-large organization (consulting, fintech, or enterprise software), with proven ability to translate business problems into production ML systems AND navigate regulatory/governance constraints.
