About the Role

As a Client Operations - Client Onboarding Director at Morgan Stanley, your role involves leading the Client Onboarding team in Mumbai and overseeing the global strategy and governance for Client Implementation. You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth client onboarding experience for clients across Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. Your key responsibilities include:

  • • Managing a team of about 30 people in Mumbai, providing coaching, conducting career conversations, supporting career development aspirations, and ensuring team members have the necessary skills.

  • • Leading the strategy and governance for the department, partnering with global leaders, managing people, vendor, and location strategy, supporting new business growth, standardizing metrics and controls.

  • • Implementing and managing controls within the respective area to mitigate operational risk and run the operation as a business considering client service needs, cost-effectiveness, and value-add.

  • • Actively managing team performance, reviewing onboarding performance, addressing issues, anticipating resourcing impact, and prioritizing support for client onboarding.

  • • Implementing quality and control governance, reviewing quality results, identifying gaps, and improving the team's data and process quality.

  • • Managing audits and reviews, including internal audit, external regulatory inquiries, external audit, and internal compliance testing.

  • • Leading projects and initiatives to advance the Onboarding strategic vision of providing value-added services to clients.

  • • Working with Change the Bank and Technology Teams to enhance operational efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Qualifications required for this role include:

  • • 12+ years of management experience in consulting for or directly with financial institutions in operations, change management, and/or technology. Client Onboarding and Client Relationship Management experience preferred.

  • • 7+ years of team and people management experience of remote processing teams in a financial institution.

  • • Effective problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task, strong risk and control awareness, technical understanding of transaction lifecycle in asset classes preferred.

  • • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with Business Units, Compliance, and global teams.

  • • Actively leveraging networks and using initiative to expand own and others' understanding of front to back business process and technology.
