About the Role

As a Founding Chief Medical Officer at Pawzz Foundation, an animal welfare organization transitioning into a tech-enabled social impact platform for Animals, your role is crucial in shaping the medical side of the platform and supporting on-ground initiatives. This role is based in Gurugram with the flexibility of some work-from-home arrangements.

Key Responsibilities: - Lead all veterinary and medical strategy for the platform and on-ground initiatives - Create and standardize medical protocols, SOPs, and quality benchmarks for clinics, partners, and tele-consults - Advise on product features related to medical workflows such as triage, EMRs, follow-ups, and sterilization bookings

• Oversee medical aspects of rescue cases, surgeries, and sterilization drives directly or through partner vets

• Build and mentor an extended network of vets, para-vets, shelters, and diagnostic partners

• Ensure alignment of all practices with animal welfare ethics and regulatory norms
Qualifications: - Veterinary degree (BVSc & AH or equivalent) is mandatory
• Strong clinical experience in small animal practice; exposure to surgery, emergency, and/or shelter medicine is a plus

• Experience in animal welfare, shelters, or NGO work is advantageous

• Comfort with technology, teleconsults, and EMR-style workflows

• Strong strategic thinking to balance clinical quality, scale, and affordability

• Excellent communication and leadership skills; willingness to collaborate closely with founders, product, and operations teams
In this Equity-only founding role initially, there is no fixed salary until consistent revenue generation or funding round closure. Reimbursement for on-ground work expenses is provided. The transition to a paid C-level role + ESOPs is planned as the platform progresses towards revenue generation or fundraising.
