Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial function of a growing retail designer company. The role will be responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring strong governance, optimizing costs, and supporting business expansion across retail, e-commerce, and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and execute the companys financial strategy aligned with business goals

- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on growth plans, expansion, and profitability

- Provide insights on pricing, margins, and cost optimization in a retail environment

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning

- Monitor key financial metrics including revenue, gross margins, inventory turnover, and EBITDA

- Drive data-backed decision-making across business units

Retail & Inventory Financial Management

- Oversee inventory planning, stock control, and working capital management

- Ensure optimal inventory levels across stores and warehouses

- Monitor shrinkage, markdowns, and seasonality impacts

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements

- Manage audits, internal controls, and financial reporting standards

- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies

Cash Flow & Fund Management

- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and fund utilization

- Lead fundraising, investor relations, and financial due diligence (if applicable)

- Optimize capital structure and working capital cycles

Business Partnering

- Work closely with merchandising, operations, and marketing teams

- Support store expansion, new product launches, and digital initiatives

- Evaluate ROI on campaigns, store performance, and new markets

Team Leadership

- Build and lead a high-performing finance team

- Drive process improvements and automation in financial systems

- Ensure strong financial discipline across the organization

Key Requirements

- CA / MBA Finance or equivalent qualification

- 10 TO 18+ years of experience, with at least 3 TO 5 years in a leadership role

- Prior experience in retail, fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands preferred

- Strong understanding of inventory-led businesses and multi-channel sales (offline + online)

- Experience in scaling businesses, fundraising, or working with founders is a plus
